like, the timeline of Heceta? Gladly >u< 2012 - Adam Young (Owl City) shares a demo of an unreleased song called Heceta which people assume to be a part of a rather famous unreleased Port Blue album, or a brand new unfinished one. 2013 - Hello Beautiful creates a remix of Heceta featuring lyrics. 2014 - I release my version of Heceta using the 2012 demo featuring an extended instrumental and new lyrics on top of Hello Beautiful's lyrics. 2015 - Color Therapy (unspokenly understood to be another Adam Young side project) releases the album "Mr. Wolf is Dead" featuring a new and completed version of Heceta called "Yachats". 2024 - I get off my butt and combine the 2014 lyrics (plus a new narration) with the updated 2015 Yachats instrumental to make Heceta 2024 =u= And that's the story of how I became a giant lighthouse. *squeak*

Haha, I remember at the time I finished this song the first time I was working as a night guard at a sort of correctional facility, so I had a lot of quiet hours to myself in the dark. Somehow or another a lot of positive lyrics came out of that, haha. I love hearing about the memories people associate with music, it's a beautiful thing to know that a song can be enjoyed during such a normal part of someone's everyday life and the artist likely will never know it~ I'm glad I get to sometimes know about it >u<
